o.k. so I can finally share the big news!!!! The performance I had in the Bahamas last week was for Sir Sean Connery's 80th birthday!!!!! Yes, a few of us from Bowfire were flown in to surprise Sean Connery for a private, family only, birthday celebration!
I think he was as excited to see us as we were to see him!!!! The event took place at a mansion, once owned by Cole Porter and Irving Berlin!!!
Sean was so emotional at first, he couldn't speak but came up to each one of us to shake hands. He then let loose and joined us on the dance floor and showed us his own moves! He had a great time and I even got to enjoy about 20 minutes talking to him one on one. He's still got it!!!!! It was wonderful to be there and great to see his kind and gentle nature with his family! what a thrill!.... will share some pictures very soon and there are already many up on facebook.
From there, it was directly off to fiddle camp where I enjoyed working with a group of 6 for the week. They were a great bunch and so enthusiastic! The time was great from teaching to reconnecting with the other instructors/friends and of course, collaborating on some great tunes!

I'm packing up and heading out to the Bahamas later this week for an exciting show with Bowfire! I will share details soon!
From there, it's straight on to the Grand Masters' Fiddle Camp outside of Ottawa for 5 days. It's always a great experience working with highly motivated students and enjoying just a small bit of down time with the other wonderful instructors from across Canada. should be a fun but extremely busy week!!!! Had a great time on the weekend with the Mushy Peas at the Russell Celtic Festival! It was a pleasure to be back and playing in a line up of some great bands! Thank you to our wonderful host Bill Connelly and the Festival Committee for treating us so well and thank you all for coming out to support the Festival and to say hello. Always great to see old friends and to meet new ones at the same time!!!

I enjoyed a wonderful week in Nova Scotia with a super fun fiddle camp, great music and friendship. I even went "tidal bore rafting" with Troy MacGilliveray and Jake Charron. (two wonderful musicians and we lived to tell about it) What a blast.
Looking forward to a little time at home while catching up on business and planning for the next things on the calendar.

I am so fortunate to meet and work with amazing people from Presenters, organizers, musicians and fans. Had another incredible concert in Waltham, MA over the weekend thanks to our Presenter and friend, Terry Eagan.
I had the pleasure of meeting many people, now friends, in the area and worked with The Laws again, met Joe Courmer, J.P Courmier with Bill and Mike Elliot and what a treat it was to enjoy their concerts as well!!! Thanks to Matt Lovenworth and Edmund Boudreau for backing me up for my portion of the concert.

Just home after a wonderful weekend in Westfield MA. Enjoyed working with the wonderful members of the Pioneer Valley Fiddlers and putting on a show at the School Street Bistro. We were surrounded by incredible people and enjoyed every moment of the show thanks to all who came out to show their support and to share their enthusiasm. Just back from a great show in Hartford, CT. Thank you to Irwin Nussbaum for the opportunity to perform for his "Music for a Change" concert series. It was great to play for a new crowd and to meet many wonderful people. Hope to go back some time!

So March is wrapping up!!! ahhh yes! Spring must be here then right? woohoo!
So I've caught up from my lack of sleep after BC and Bowfire and finally getting into a work groove here at home. that's always nice.
I will spend a day and a half with my family for Easter and then take off to New York City to perform for Sir Sean Connery's Dressed to Kilt fundraiser. Wow - that sure sounds exciting eh?
AFter that, looking forward to a few shows I have in the U.S. I hope to see some familiar faces out and look forward to meeting many new people as well.

Well it's spring here in Abbottsford, BC!!! The grass is green, the trees are starting to bloom and I'm hearing lawn mowers!!!
I'm hoping to find Kingston much the same when I return in two weeks!
I have been staying with a large family here while doing some workshops and shows. Nine children, three farm helpers from other countries, hens, chickens, pigs, dogs, cats, birds and goats!!!!! Even a few baby goats in the house! You could say I'm not lonely!
I will move on today to Hope, BC where I will be instructing for the next week. I believe I will be completely out of service there and then connecting with Bowfire in Dallas on Friday the 12th. The time will fly!

I hope everyone is enjoying the Vancouver Olympic Games and hopefully the last lingering snow falls. I will be out to BC shortly but no - I"m not going for the Gold. I AM going to HOPE, BC though if that counts! Hope counts for something doesn't it?
Before that, please check out a couple of shows that I have coming up. A house concert in Ottawa, ON and another dinner/show in Gananoque, ON. It's always great to see people out and to have a chance to say hello in person.

Who knew that having fun could be so exhausting! I just spent a wonderful week in NS surrounded by music and friends and to think I call it "work"!
The Shivering Strings Music Camp was one of the best I've ever attended and it was the first annual! Hats off to Debbie Coles, Nancy Barkhouse, Gordon Stobbe and their team for doing such a great job!!!
Thank you also to Al and Nancy McVicar for setting us up with a great concert opportunity on the 9th and to all of those who came out to show their support. I really feel a sense of family any time I have the opportunity to visit NS.
Spent a couple of days catching up on sleep and now back to work on the rest of my business. Happy Valentine's Day and Family Day on Monday!!!! Make sure to stop and smell the roses!!! Kelli

I'm heading out today for the better part of a week in Nova Scotia. Will be teaching at a fiddle camp there at Oak Island Resort. Wow! A step up from the usual camp type cabins!! Will be great to work with Gordon Stobbe, Greg Simm and Geoff Horrocks again. We'll do a couple of shows while I"m in the area as well. One is a school show but the other is listed here on my site.

Where did Christmas go??? Especially now that we have all of this snow!!! I hope you all enjoyed the holidays with friends, family and maybe some music too? I wasn't around NEARLY long enough to take it all in but did what I could.
Even managed a traditional 5 MILE walk on Boxing Day - in the freezing rain! Couldn't wimp out though as long as my almost 76 year old Dad was still forging ahead!
So home now for a while but busier than ever trying to get my year ahead organized and scheduled. January is the time to be scoping out work for the summer season - or at least filling the holes that are still available. Thank you for staying tuned. Stay warm. Kelli

I "think" it's the 27th and for most people this is "FRIDAY"!! For me here on tour with Bowfire, it's another rehearsal day and a show tonight in Biloxi, MI. Although it's warm enough to wear shorts, we ARE starting to sport Santa hats and antlers setting the tone for our Christmas shows.
I will be on tour throughout the U.S. until Dec 16th just in time to return home to share Christmas with family and friends. I really hope there's some white stuff on the ground by then. I KNOW - but it's just not Christmas without out.

Thank you to the Metcalfe Fair for a wonderful experience there on Sunday. Spirits weren't dampened by the weather at all! Great to see so many out to support this wonderful fair. ONe of the longest running and most impressive fairs around!

o.k. so I've been busy! I really have! And, soon I will have something to show for it!
I have finally wrapped up my recording session and am currently pulling all of the artwork together for my new CD!!!! I hope to have them in my hot little hands by the end of October! I will be sure to announce the delivery!
I am off to Germany with Bowfire "for the weekend"! Crazy! the whole cast is flying over to do a 5 1/2 minute television spot!!! I guess it's a VERY big deal and it will help to promote our tour over there in late January/early February.
It was great to see some old friends and new ones too at the Tamowrth fiddle camp on the weekend. What a great time! I also really appreciated seeing some friends out on Monday night at the Tir Nan Og. It was a fun night and I enjoyed being entertained by Roger James as well! Catch him if you haven't already!
Thanks to CKWS for helping to promote that Irish Folk Club event and for offering to do a feature on me regarding my new CD!!! They will be airing something shortly on "live at 5" so watch for that!

So we're wrapping up the summer season sadly but fall is one of my favourite seasons so it's not so bad. Much better sleeping weather too!
This cooler air tells me that the Big Pembroke fiddle contest is just around the corner. I'm not sure I can get there this year but if there's ANY possible window, My car will know which way to go!!! I hope everyone has a great time wrapping up their summer festivities and I'm sure it will be good to get back into some sort of schedule.

Heading to the studio next week finally and will be busy pulling all of my material together. This is the fun part!!!
I'm also enjoying the creative process of CD layout and design. Tough decisions to make too especially after having worked with photographer Charles Ede. He did an incredible job for me and was wonderful to work with.

The fall will be busy with finishing up the CD, doing a few release concerts and touring with Bowfire quite steadily.

Is it summer yet??? Why does it seem to fly by so quickly when it's already much too short!
I spent a week in Pittsburgh at a Jazz camp and it was a wonderful experience. Gave me much to work on and a better appreciation for what my students go through at fiddle camps! I can relate!
We had a wonderful show in Tamworth Saturday night thanks to our wonderful hosts and the most enthusiastic crowd! Thank you all for coming out!
I am continuing to work on my new CD and will spend most of August and September working on the bulk of it. Please stay tuned for details of my two CD release concerts set for mid November. The dates are already on my site so mark them on your calendar. Would love to see you all out to celebrate the launch! This will have been several years in the making so it becomes a pretty big deal. I thank you all for your past support and i'm hoping you'll enjoy this new project!!!

Hello again. I hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather (most days). I just spent 10 great days in NS working with Gordon Stobbe, Greg Simm, Geoff Horrocks and the Ships Company Theatre. Thanks so much to everyone who came out to support our shows. It was great to see old friends and to make many new acquaintances. I was spoiled with great hosts all week and enjoyed wonderful dinners, lunches, music and friendship while I was there. Thank you all for making my time in NS as special as it always is.

I'm just back from Kamloops BC where I had a wonderful time with the BC Old time fiddlers, Branch 12. Met some wonderful new fiddle friends and saw many familiar faces from my trip to Prince George last summer. It was a funfilled time of playing, dancing and laughing. We really need more of that don't we? A big thank you to Mark Sullivan for accompanying me on guitar. What a treat!

After a great tour with Bowfire, I am heading into the studio today for the next few days to do some arranging and preproduction work. Anxious to get something new out!
****I will be heading to NYC on Sunday with 3 other Bowfire cast members to perform at a special "kilt" fashion show put on by Sean Connery. (Monday, March 30) He saw Bowfire on PBS and invited us to do some fiddling and stepdancing at the event! Yes, even on the Runway! Check it out on line to see who else will be in attendance!

Well Happy belated New Year!
It may seem like I'm off to a slow start as this is my first entry in 2009 but trust me when I say I have been busy. I've been busy trying to fill my calendar for the upcoming show season which means I can get out of the house and out to see some of you in person. I believe it is time well spent so don't think I've forgotten you.
I am also busy writing and arranging to get into the studio this spring to, again, have something new for you soon to listen to!
So much of my work is done at home when I'm not touring so I hope you don't think I"m just sitting around being a couch potato. Actually, sitting every once in a while would probably do me good.
I hope this note finds you well and staying warm!!! I hope to connect a little more often but with a new myspace page I have even more to stay on top of. Thanks for staying tuned and for your continued interest and support.

Ahhhh... a first little dusting of snow here yesterday! Just what I need to get into the Christmas spirit! How many shopping days left? Are they telling us yet?
I now have a MYSPACE account set up so please stop by and join as my friend. It will be a great tool for me to keep you updated on things I'm doing and things to watch for!
In the mean time, I'm busy writing and choosing material for a new CD!!! A long process but one to "enjoy".
Please, if you get a chance, check out the Starbright Christmas Special I"m involved with. It's a very magical show and will put you in the Christmas spirit!

Oh boy! Has time flown!
After a successful Bowfire tour, I got home in time to do a show of my own with my Mushy Peas. Thanks to all of you who came out to see us in Ottawa.
Bowfire has now officially released it's DVD after our one time showing at the Cineplex!
I"m busy these days doing some studio work (no - not for myself) but will get to that soon!!!!
Other than that, trying to learn material for the Starbright Christmas show coming up!!! We will have a week of rehearsals during the first part of December and expect to have another great experience with the cast there. Please come out to see us in Stratford and if not there, check us in Nepean!!! It is a wonderfully magical show and so full of Christmas spirit!

Well, I'm here in "somewhere" MA on a two week Bowfire tour. We had our first show last night after an all day rehearsal/sound check. That's one way to keep us on our toes!
Tonight we're performing on a round rotating stage. Should be good for a few laughs as entering stage left or right will be constantly changing. We're traveling in two sleeper coaches this tour which is another new element to "grow" with. Time will fly - I'm just happy we're in Northern States so that we can still enjoy the fall beauty and freshness. Stay tuned! Kelli

What a fall we're having! Incredible weather! Hard to believe it's almost the end of September.

Wow! Just finished a wonderful but exhausting 5 days with Gordon Stobbe and Greg Simm. Thank you all for coming out to our shows and showing your support. Always great to see friends, familiar faces and new ones too!

Almost a year long process putting material together for this new look and extra features.
